Most Dublin homeowners get three or four solar quotes back. Different system sizes, different panel counts, no clear way to tell which one actually suits the house. We start with how you use electricity, then size the system to match.
SPV Energy is SEAI registered and has completed over 3,000 installations across Ireland. You get a written quote before any work begins. Call 049 489 1207 or fill a form to request your free quote.

Solar PV runs on daylight, not heat. Dublin gets enough of it to make a properly sized system worth fitting, and the table below shows estimated output for your own area rather than a national average.
What changes your result is the roof, not the county. Direction and pitch matter most. After that comes shading from chimneys, trees and neighbouring buildings, which is worth checking closely on Dublin’s older terraced and semi-detached stock. We confirm all of it during the survey, before you commit to anything.
Note: Estimates above are based on a 4kWp solar installation (e.g. 10x400W solar panels), assumes panels are fixed, south facing and on a 35 degree slope, and the solar panel location in Co. Dublin is specifically Lat 53.350, Lon -6.260. Your solar output will be different.

Can't recomend these guys enough. Did an absolutely fantastic job on my solar install and spent plenty of time prior to it making sure I got the right system for my needs. They were also coming in the cheapest too with a quick installation turn around. A1. Thanks again!Posted on Google![]()

I don’t like giving reviews because quality can change over time at a company. However, I can say the job they did in March 2025 was faultless. Attention to detail was superb to hide as much wiring as possible. Delighted with the result. I’ll use them again if I need a car charger in future.Posted on Google![]()

Great service, quick, efficient and transparent.
We cover Dublin city, Fingal, South Dublin and Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. Terraced, semi-detached, detached, dormer and commercial roofs each need a different approach, and we plan every job for neat cable runs, safe isolation and a tidy finish.
The Solar Electricity Grant pays €700 per kWp to 2 kWp, then €200 per kWp to 4 kWp. Homes built before 2021 qualify. We handle the application.
VAT on supply and installation of home solar has been 0% since May 2023. It has to be invoiced as a single contract, which is how we quote.
Electricity you do not use goes to the grid and your supplier pays for it. The first €400 a year of that income is tax exempt until end 2028.
A battery helps if you use most of your electricity in the evening. Mostly daytime usage often does not need one. We recommend it only where it pays.
Solar PV has almost no moving parts. An occasional look over the panels and keeping them clear of heavy debris is usually all it takes.
Solar PV can improve your BER, which matters when you sell. You also get an app showing generation and usage, set up before we leave.
Call us or fill in the form. Tell us the property type and roughly what you spend on electricity. We answer your questions and tell you what happens next, with no pressure and no hard sell.
We check roof space, pitch, shading, your electrics and how you use power. Then we design a system to fit and send a written quote and warranty. We also apply for your SEAI grant before any work starts, which is the order the rules require.
Most Dublin homes are done in one to two days. We commission the system, walk you through the app, and submit the completion paperwork to SEAI so your grant gets paid.
A homeowner in Co. Dublin came to us wanting lower bills without a complicated setup. After the survey we fitted a 5.2kW solar PV system, sized to their roof and their daytime usage rather than to a package.
On another Dublin job we paired a 3kW array with a Solis Mini inverter and an Eddi hot water diverter, so surplus electricity heats the cylinder.
Your results will depend on your roof, shading, and electricity usage. We’ll confirm everything after a survey.
A 4kWp system, roughly 10 panels, generates between about 3,400 and 4,000 kWh a year across Dublin depending on your area. The table above gives an estimate for your own electoral division. Your figure moves with roof direction, pitch and shading, and we confirm it at survey.
Check three things. The company has to be on the SEAI registered list or you cannot claim the grant. The electrical work has to be done by a Safe Electric Ireland electrician. And you should get a written contract, not a verbal quote. SPV Energy is SEAI registered and has completed over 3,000 installations across Ireland.
Not if you want the grant. SEAI requires the installation to be carried out by a company on its registered list, with all electrical work done by a Safe Electric Ireland electrician. A self-install also means no ESB Networks connection application and no grant payment.
Up to €1,800 in 2026. You get €700 per kWp for the first 2 kWp, then €200 per kWp up to 4 kWp. Your home needs to have been built and occupied before 2021. The application has to be approved before any work starts, and we handle that for you.
For a rooftop system on a house, no. Homes across Ireland can fit unlimited roof panels without permission. Parts of Dublin city sit in architectural conservation areas, and protected structures have their own rules, so those properties should check with the local authority first. We will tell you if it applies to your address.
Most Dublin homes take one to two days. We fit the mounting rails and panels, run the cabling, install and commission the inverter, then test the system. Before we leave we set up your monitoring app and walk you through it. We handle the SEAI completion paperwork afterwards so your grant gets paid.
